In my ongoing pursuit of aesthetic perfection I've again updated the look of Axels, Loops, and Spins. What do you think? All feedback good and bad welcome.
UPDATE: Okay, another design look. Further feedback welcome.

I'm not a fan... the background is distracting and all the light colors are harder on the eyes for me.
Hahahahaha, the Toller Cranston comes from a little interview Ice Charades did with him... http://icecharades.blogspot.com/2010/07/interview-with-toller.html
I love the direction. It's fresh and more inviting. Congrats on the change.
If the field behind the text is customizable, I'd vote for that to be white...and then it's a home run!
Can the background image be changed...or is that set? If so, I agree that something icy/wintery would be better. If it's editable, and you don't know Photoshop...I'd be glad to prep a diff photo for you for that. Lemmie know.
Just my thoughts above (ie: make the field behind the text that is currently baby blue a white). As far as the background image, if you provide me with a wintery, icy photo (or, frankly, whatever you want, of course) I can blur and resize it like the one currently placed. If you don't have one, and need one, I can try to find some amongst the free stock available online.
Light text on dark background is a big marketing no-no, especially if you have older readers, who find it difficult to focus on. I like the idea of the background, but I'd rather be a little clearer on what it is? A mountain? A skate blade plowing into a snowy stop? It bothers me that I can't tell.

I find it much more difficult to read - and I do read your posts regularaly.
Too close to Twitter background.
I have to agree. Although if you're going to quote figure skaters, that I love. What was Toller referring to?
not really sure the background goes with the theme of the theme of your blog, but it does have a summery feel.

Much better to read than it was a few hours ago. The background doesn't really say "figure skating", but that's ok. Blue is pretty.

It's totally editable and I am photoshop stupid. Any help from a professional graphics designer would be appreciated. Any thoughts?
