In Johnny's Closet

Johnny Weir recently opened up his closet to NY Mag Fashion Editor Amy Odell. He dished on all things Fur, Chanel, Louboutin, shopping, pillows, his new clothing line, etc.

One piece of the Q&A caught my attention:
I’ve been so busy, and it seems like it’s been a long time since the Olympics, but it really hasn’t and I haven’t stopped doing appearances and performing. And I'm writing my single and trying to write my book. And I found a little bit of cellulite yesterday so I’ve been in the gym every day.

Those hoping and praying that miraculously Johnny will be competing next season...well, that quote makes it seem unlikely.

Well he sure looked good at Skate for Hope 2 weeks ago - he only did 2 triples though. His Heartbroken piece was gorgeous with all those artistic Johnny-isms -- and a triple loop landed silently with great flow. So you won't be the only person disappointed if he retires from competition. It's so wonderful to see him in person.

I don't think he'll compete, he's got so much else going on. I finally caught the final episode of his reality show in Toller Cranston's den. We were staying with him our last weekend in Mexico and he was sent the tapes of the show, so Toller was watching it for the first time too.

It was surreal. The parallels between the two!

But you'll have to read my blog tomorrow afternoon when I try to sum it all up.

Thanks for keeping up with Johnny!

and yet he cries poor me when he sees everyone else being able to afford private rooms at the olys for their parents.

considering his collection of fur, I can't feel too sorry for him. It's called a budget, Johnny.
